When a gravely injured Czechoslovak partisan named Pavel lies paralyzed in hospital, he must confront his traumatic memories of war and seek vengeance against Engelchen, an SS officer who brutally murdered his friends, after Marta, the love of his life, visits him with a hint of betrayal.
