When the Second Angel threatens to destroy life on Earth, 14-year-old Shinji Ikari must pilot Evangelion Unit 01 alongside Rei in Unit 00, wielding a positron cannon, to stop the apocalypse and confront his complex emotions as a reluctant hero.
