When Ulzana breaks free from the San Carlos Indian Reservation with a small war party, ageing U.S. Army scout McIntosh must join forces with a few dozen soldiers led by Lieutenant DeBuin and Apache scout Ke-Ni-Tay to bring him in, but their mission is complicated by the brutal activities of the Apache warriors and DeBuin's own Christian morality.
